Your Instructor
Nehaa Rani Sudhakar
Master of Fine Arts, Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh
20+ years teaching experience
Nehaa didn't learn Madhubani from a textbook. She grew up with it in Bihar, watching women in her community paint these patterns for festivals and ceremonies. It was part of daily life before it was ever a "subject" to study.
She went on to earn her MFA and has spent the past two decades teaching students across India and now internationally. She runs The Canvas Art Academy from Goa, where she teaches both traditional techniques and contemporary applications.
What makes her workshops different is the context. You won't just copy patterns—you'll understand what they mean, where they come from, and why they've survived for generations.

What You'll Learn

Madhubani
"The art of celebration"
Born in Bihar's Mithila region, traditionally painted by women to mark weddings and festivals

Mandala
"Sacred geometry, meditative practice"
Ancient patterns representing the universe, used in Hindu and Buddhist traditions

Warli
"The oldest tribal stories"
Maharashtra's 2,500-year-old tribal art depicting daily life and nature
