SOFT PASTEL PAINTING

Soft pastel painting is a technique that uses sticks of pure powdered pigment to create vibrant, luminous works of art.

This course is designed for students of all skill levels who are interested in learning the techniques of soft pastel painting. The class will cover the basics of color theory, composition, and mark-making, as well as more advanced techniques such as layering, blending, and creating texture. Students will have the opportunity to work on a variety of subject matter, including landscapes, still lifes, and portraits. The course will also include critiques and one-on-one instruction to help students develop their own personal style. Materials, such as pastels, paper, and fixative, will be provided. By the end of the course, students will have a solid understanding of the medium and the skills to create their own beautiful pastel paintings.
